Making Martha Stewart PoMs!
How do you puff a perfect PoM? After searching for detailed instructions on how to make my pom look like a pom and not two parts of tissue paper puffed towards each other, I figured it out! And now, I want to share with the world so everyone’s PoMs are as pretty as Martha’s! Follow along as I show you the art of puffing, not so much the materials needed (8 sheets of tissue paper folded back and forth in about 1 inch widths stapled in the middle) – hint, tie a ribbon or string around the stapled mid-section before puffing if u want to hang ‘em!… but the art of puffing ‘em!
Video Rating: 4 / 5
Taken from Zakir Hussain’s first solo album “Making Music” (1987). It represents an important breakthrough in the world-jazz-fusion music scene. Zakir Hussain is considered the greatest tabla player on earth. Englishman John McLaughlin is thought by many to be one of the best guitarist on earth. An intuitive combination of styles and one of the best examples of what one deems music to be. Listen & Enjoy it. Recorded at Rainbow Studio, Oslo, Norway in December 1986 Personnel includes: Zakir Hussain (vocals, tabla, percussion) Jan Garbarek (soprano & tenor saxophones) John McLaughlin (acoustic guitar) Hariprasad Chaurasia (flute) *** Note: Cut to 10:45 min. Original length 12:30 min ***

Try making a video when your friends aren’t making a ton of noise. By the way, no one can see what you are doing behind the already fluffed portion since the amera person was too dumb to move. I think a Kindergartener could do what you’ve done. Ridiculous. I want the five minites of my

@emmer84 we did ‘em for a friends wedding and they looked so funny in the photos – like lumpy and frumpy and i finally figured out, you have to do this otherwise it just looks like two parts of tissue paper hanging hahahaha.

@doryfish22 we use them as volleyballs and decorations.
February 21st, 2012 at 1:51 am
@mleolahi80 we not only hung them from the ceiling, but we put some on lights that were hanging on the walls, so it looked like flowers were on the lights, we also used ‘em instead of a ribbon for curtains that hung, so they looked like big flowers on top of the curtains hanging – hope you have a wonderful wedding full of POMs!!!

@gahmeep make sure you don’t puff ‘em until you get to wherever your site is.. that makes it a bit hard if you’re doing a lot – otherwise, use a big box and try not to put too many in one box and then just puff ‘em a bit when you get there in case they have flattened from transportation!
February 21st, 2012 at 2:40 am
@hiltp1008 yeah live with it hahahaha it ain’t that gross, it’s not like i went and touched everyone after, and nobody is going to go up to the poms and touch ‘em! you never lick your hands when separating paper? cuz i do! and dang proud of it too!

@itsabutifullife123 to do two colors, just get tissue paper in two colors and when you’re putting it together, alternate colors and then fold it together just like using one color. hope that helps!

כל המהות שלי ספוגה בערגה מהצלילים הבוקעים.
הייתי חולה באותה תקופה סוף שנות השמונים , ופס קול של תקליטור זה לווה בנאמנות את ההחלמה שלי.
תודה.

@CerebralBeing This is a piece of diamond! Just heard it on TV and got that strange state of mind, like being religious… This music came from 4 souls which met in a devine constellation. I wish I could once make music like this.
February 21st, 2012 at 9:24 am
@OneBigRetard LOL! love the comment!

February 21st, 2012 at 10:20 am
@CerebralBeing Tiad is nicer than I am – “Nastos” name says it all – besides, do you listen to “critics”? when they give a bad review, it makes me go buy the album…
February 21st, 2012 at 10:21 am
@CerebralBeing Absolutely, friend. Patronizing grows as well as kills!

I bought this record when it came out after devouring all the Shakti albums. It’s nice music, but no one digs in: too many water signs(?). Wonderfully executed music that doesn’t amount to much. The group Oregon had been doing this stuff for years. Mybe because it was ECM.

February 21st, 2012 at 2:44 pm
only since 2 days, I have come to know of Jan Garbarek on the saxophone and John McLaughlin on guitar. I have stumbled on their music ,accepting the challenge of Hariprasad chaurasia on the flute[ Hamsadhwani ] and Zakir Hussain on the tabla. Indeed it has come very well and I have no words to express my happiness. They are the gems of humanity, and we are the recipients of their gifts.May GOD BLESS THEM FOREVER.. VENU65315

Some of the best music can be found in the ‘discount-bin’, the mind of the age can’t possibly have an resonance with this music nor the “critics” who represent them.
Another great cd is Song For Everyone by L.Shankar

…the creator is the master musician, the players in this album are the diverse instruments in Creators hands shaped by years of dedication, commitment and courage to allow the imagination of the universe to enter their souls and inspire such creative imagination, their tools are merely the amplifiers through which Creator expresses the miracle of love and light that is sound made manifest in making music…

@CerebralBeing: Does it really matter, who gives which rating to this great music and these artists? Trust your own ears and soul. And you will have your “5 stars” rating.
– Enjoy.
February 21st, 2012 at 7:32 pm
@CerebralBeing if he gives 2.5 stars, maybe he has a tumour affecting either his hearing or cognition….!
