Question by alp: Can a harp play one octave?
I’m making a harp it has to be able to play one octave or from C to C’. I know nothing about music. How do I know if it’ll be able to play this?

An octave from C to C’ is 8 notes — C D E F G A B C’. You can think of it also as do re mi fa sol la ti do.

If you put 8 strings (one string for each note) on your harp and tune it correctly, it’ll play one octave.

Most folk harps can play at least 3 octaves, and concert harps (the really BIG ones with pedals) can play something like 5 octaves, I think.
