    David Baner Says:

DAB is an acronym for Digital Audio Broadcasting and is a newer standard for FM radio (but not available in all countries). In general, a DAB signal requires less bandwidth (which means more FM stations can’t occupy the same, fixed frequency band). The initial DAB standard resulted in inferior audio quality for certain “types” of digital audio. That has been addressed with DAB+.

However, all terrestrial radio signals (AM or FM) are still analog in nature.
