I bought this pickup to use my acoustic guitar with Rocksmith for the Xbox 360. There were no other reviews stating that it would work or not, but I decided to take a chance anyway. After using it for a couple of days with the game, it works almost perfectly. For the price, it definitely works well enough to use with the game. I have not used the pickup for anything other than Rocksmith.

Note:You will need to order a male to male coupler in order to use with the cable provided with the game since both cables have a male end.

I just bought this for my ukulele. I put it on the soundhole and I was really disappointed with the sound. It was kinda hollow and thin. I tried adjusting the clip to fit differently but there isn’t a lot of room to clip it on the sound hole without interfering with the strings so as a last resort I tried putting it at the end of the headstock and I was amazed at how natural the sound was. I’ve only tried it on a little Honeytone amp and it does the job. I guess I could plug it into my Fender Tube Amp but the baby is asleep and my wife (who hates the ukulele) would probably kill me. But it sounds pretty good coming out of the little plastic honeytone amp. Can’t beat it for the money. I suppose I could find a pretty good pickup for my ukulele for a couple of hundred bucks, but it’s a ukulele. I mean how good can you make it sound anyway?

I ordered a Cherub guitar and violin pickup recently – the reviews are good, and for about $7, why not give it a try? The guitar pickup arrived recently, and I am astonished by how good it is. I’m a professional musician and amateur luthier, and play a wide variety of stringed instruments. I have used many piezo pickups. I usually install K&K pickups in instruments where I want a dedicated piezo. But I can’t afford to put a K&K in every instrument I play.

This cherub pickup sounds pretty much the same as my K&Ks. The output is clean and hot. It seems to give a balanced sound no matter where you clip it on the instrument, even the headstock. The clip-on design is very well conceived and executed. About the only downside I can think of is that it’s not as elegant looking as most higher-end pickups.

Every string player who may want to plug in should at least have one of these as a backup.
