How Would I Distribute My Own Music?
If I record music (be it at home on a computer or rent a studio space) how can I sell my music in units?
I know there is the internet but how can I make copies (manufacture) my CDs and sell those?? I mean, say 100, 500, units or actual physical CDs that I could sell online or out my car or home.
Where do independent and solo musicians go to make copies and package a local CD to sell on their own?
I really, really want to know this.

It all depends on what country but my advice to you is find your local independant music distribution guide (online or bookstores) and you will be able to contact people who can help.
You can get cds pressed yourself (1000 cds for bout $2000 aus) is what I pay and design your own art or pay someone to do it. ALWAYS get ur cd professionally mastered even if its indie music it will sound better than 90% of the other tittles if you do. Go and ask at all the local music stores and indie stores that support local artists and you can sell there on consignment (they will sell for $15 for example and pay you $10) try http://www.cdbaby.com and they will advertise on line and itunes etc. Also set up a music myspace and upload your mp3s then people can hit u up for a copy and just post it to them or use paypal etc. Also there are indepant labels who are distributed through major labels so if you can get a indie label to sign u up for a distro deal you could increase exposure that way to and move more units

In the punk subculture, we we just copy our music on CD-Rs and make our own CD cases. It’s pretty easy all you need is some imagination and a photocopier. Then you can drop them off at your local music store and maybe have them sell them for you. I know our local music store does it for us.

sell @ school or a local buisness. good luck.i wouldnt recomend the streets.
