How Do Artists Get Their Start On Record Labels?
Do they all just get lucky by knowing someone, or do they submit demo’s like saps like me? Basically, what I’m asking is this: What should I be doing to get my music out there? I live in a quiet, small, secluded community, so I don’t have options to get my name out in clubs or anything. What should I do?

There are scientifically over several thousand ways to get yourself noticed and signed by a label. You’ve got to try as many as you possibly can. Not just one or two. Madonna never gave up trying and look at her career. Most artists who’ve had long careers are the most motivated/gifted ones, imho. So try everything. There is no ONE thing. You gotta want it bad enough to GO FOR IT! ;P
