No, teenagers haven’t destroyed it, Teeny-boppers have. (Yes, there’s a difference). Because most teens these days will only listen to certain things and follow certain fads just because everyone else listens to it. Like your list, which are just mainstream failures, slowly destroying and giving the term “musical talent” a bad name. And might I also point out, just because a band gets a grammy/ award does not mean ANYTHING. A piece of fired metal is not going to improve they’re “talent.” This represents nothing, except shere stupidity. Most companies who give out those awards are just as stupid as the people who listen to them, considering the fact that they know nothing to very little about music, and they’re only given awards just because they’re “popular,” which is retarded. Popularity does NOT = talent. It is so very easy to understand, yet so many people fail to realize it.
Now, the difference between “Teenager” and “Teeny-bopper.”
Teenagers are mid-ages kids, young adults, somewhat mature, go with they’re own thing, etc. Teeny boppers, are gossip show-off people who follow fads, groups, clubs, listen to certain “artists” etc. just so they can fit in, or just because everyone else does. Ex. Twatilight, Jonas f*ckers, Taylor Sh!t, etc.
I am a teenager, yes, but I follow my own thing, I listen to my own music, and I don’t follow pointless, crappy fads like the Twilight obsession, which has badly plagued this world with stuff the media feeds them.
As you can see, my view on this subject is VERY expressive, which is why I am so rebellious against this stuff. Why? Because they give a bad influence to people who are new to music, and if they listen to these homos they’ll get the wrong idea.
Now you get my drift. I seem to have made my point for today. Good day.

Improved. If you dont like the teenagers, you dont have to listen to them. BUT they’re still there for people that do like them. They also help other teenagers with their songs because if you think about it teen singers give people something to relate to. They have songs about the same kind of relationships and friendships that teenagers have so that teenagers can relate to music, like adults relate to other songs.
If you dont like them, you dont have to listen to them, but they will be there for those who do.
Personally I like Taylor Swift, the Jonas brothers, Miley Cyrus, Justin Biber, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, all those people but i also like adult songs.
Really what harm have they done?

yes they have kinda maked it their mark that they the teens of today this is the future. not destroyed or improved but changed . like for example the 90′s the music was bigger than the artist now the singer is bigger than the music. cuz their over rated and all its about fame and over ration and all the celeb mag’s they have invented tons and that’s just for teens let alone children’s and adults.

neither. teens have been a part of the industry for decades. theyre just there, a bunch of over-commercialized puppets who’ll have their 15 minutes and disappear. the truth of the music industry is that genuine quality always stands the test of time, whereas the likes of miley cyrus will be forgotten in 10 years.

destroyed, the songs right now are just…kinda running out of idea’s i guess, any 60′-90′s song could beat these songs, atm. These singers are just over rated. I’d want to see an actual singer, who actually has some talent. Not just being overrated.

just destroyed kids appreciation for good music when they are young, hopefully they’ll grow into classics and other well composed new music…. or they will grow into rap crap that’s all about peoples as$’s…
February 7th, 2010 at 5:27 pm
Actually that is all due to marketing, not teenagers. Teenagers are very susceptible to marketing.

Destroyed it. But I mostly blame the record companys who promote them and care about money rather than talent.
February 8th, 2010 at 10:55 am
You can’t destroy or improve on music, it is what each person makes it.
